Thriving Arts Community

The Spackmans have been watching Jackson Hole develop from the somewhat quiet western flavored town where outdoor opportunities were the main focus to a place touched by a unique cultural and artistic depth. As their professional partnerships have flourished, so too have the aesthetic sensibilities of their chosen home. We’ve seen the result of a diverse influx of full and part time residents who take their architectural and home design preferences as seriously as their taste in art.

The growth can be seen on the coffee shop walls to high end galleries that broker contemporary and western art nationally and internationally. With over 30 well-established galleries – from award winning interior design to sculptors and painters who sell their pieces in Scottsdale, New York and L.A. – Jackson Hole home buyers and sellers now have a notable and very real art scene at home. Annually, the Fall Arts Festival and the Western Design Conference heighten the aesthetic by drawing artists, collectors and appreciators together for two weeks of opulence in design, art, culture, and culinary.

The National Museum of Wildlife Art is the centerpiece for western art with a well-endowed permanent collection, luminary visiting exhibits, and art education. The newest addition to Jackson Hole’s developing artistic culture is the Center for the Arts. Its 525-seat proscenium theater and multiple galleries and education facilities add breadth and depth of the music, visual and performing arts with world-class exhibitions and classes for students at every level. Literary and film events round out their seasonal calendar.

The reach of music in Jackson Hole has been defined by passionate local musicians on the one hand and the world-class Walk Festival Hall and Grand Teton Music Festival on the other. The Festival has been generously supported since 1962 by homeowners who take an active interest in their cultural pastimes. All summer long the symphony orchestra, with more than 200 internationally prized musicians, fills Walk Festival Hall with the entire spectrum of classical and ensemble sound. So too, a day of skiing or golfing can be rounded out with a night of rock and roll, country, jazz or alternative music as renowned bands have made Jackson Hole, and specifically the Mangy Moose in Teton Village, a destination on their national tours. The Cowboy Bar in the Jackson Town Square remains a favorite spot to take guests for real live country music and dancing.

As Jackson Hole realtors and brokers, we take special pleasure in sharing the area’s culinary offerings with our clients. Award-winning dining establishments, hand-picked wine lists, and renowned chefs who would rather live nowhere else, are a staple of the Jackson Hole lifestyle.
